What the Zapier integration is
The Zapier integration connects Scrunch to thousands of other apps through automated workflows called Zaps. Instead of manually checking Scrunch for important changes, you can have Scrunch events automatically trigger actions in the tools your team already uses, like Slack, email, spreadsheets, or project management software.
Scrunch currently supports two trigger types: a trigger for new Signals and a trigger for custom Signal thresholds. This means you can automate alerts the moment Scrunch detects a new Signal, or the moment a Signal crosses a threshold you define.
Availability and prerequisites
To connect Scrunch to Zapier, you need access to an API key from Scrunch within your Scrunch organization and an active Zapier account.

Understand the Zapier triggers
Once connected, Zapier can listen for two kinds of events coming from Scrunch. Each one is used to kick off a separate Zap.
New Signal trigger
This trigger fires whenever Scrunch detects a new Signal for your brand. Use it to get real-time notifications the moment something noteworthy happens in your AI search presence.
Custom Signal trigger
This trigger fires when a metric you're tracking crosses a custom threshold you've defined. Use it to flag only the changes that matter most to your team, rather than every Signal that comes through.
Core workflow: connecting Scrunch to Zapier
From the Scrunch Integrations page, select Zapier and follow the prompts to authorize the connection between your Scrunch account and your Zapier account.
In Zapier, create a new Zap and choose Scrunch as the trigger app.
Select either the new Signal trigger or the Signal threshold trigger, depending on what you want to automate.
Connect your Scrunch account if prompted, and choose the brand you want the trigger to monitor.
Test the trigger in Zapier to confirm it pulls sample Signal data from Scrunch successfully.
Add the action step you want to happen in your other app (for example, sending a Slack message or creating a row in a spreadsheet).
Turn on your Zap.
Interpret the results
Once a Zap is live, it runs automatically in the background. When Scrunch generates a new Signal, or when a tracked Signal crosses the threshold you set, Zapier receives that event and passes the relevant details into your chosen action app.
If a Zap isn't firing as expected, check that the trigger type matches what you intended (new Signal versus threshold), and confirm the Signal or threshold is still active in Scrunch.
Take action
With your Zaps in place, you can route Scrunch events wherever your team already works instead of logging in to check manually. Common next steps include:
Posting new Signals directly to a team Slack channel
Creating a task or ticket automatically when a Signal threshold is crossed
Logging Signal activity to a shared spreadsheet for reporting
Common use cases
Alerting a brand or marketing team in Slack the instant a new competitive Signal appears
Triggering an internal workflow when sentiment or presence crosses a threshold your team cares about
Feeding Signal data into a client reporting spreadsheet without manual exports
Notifying stakeholders automatically when a tracked metric moves past an agreed limit
FAQs
Do I need a paid Zapier plan?
Zapier's own plan limits (such as the number of active Zaps or tasks per month) apply as they would for any other app you connect through Zapier.
Can I use both triggers at once?
Yes. You can create separate Zaps for the new Signal trigger and the Signal threshold trigger, and run as many of each as your workflows require.
Do I need Signals set up before connecting Zapier?
Yes. Both triggers rely on Signals being generated for your brand, so review how Signals and thresholds work before building your first Zap.
