Understanding Suggested Entities in Scrunch

Learn how Scrunch automatically identifies and surfaces potential sub-brands, competitors, and competitor sub-brands from AI responses for you to review and track.

What Suggested Entities Are

Scrunch automatically identifies entities - sub-brands, competitors, and competitor sub-brands - that appear in AI responses and trend data but aren't yet being tracked in your account. Rather than requiring you to manually configure every entity up front, Suggested Entities surfaces these opportunities so you can review and decide whether to track them.

All three types appear under the Signals tab and share the same review workflow: each suggestion includes a description, and you can accept suggestions to begin tracking them or dismiss them individually or in bulk.

The Three Types of Suggested Entities

Suggested Sub-Brands (/signals/suggested-sub-brands)
Based on AI responses and brand knowledge, Scrunch identifies potential sub-brands of your own brand that you may want to track. Example: if your main brand is mentioned alongside product lines or divisions that could be tracked separately, they'll appear here.

Suggested Competitors (/signals/suggested-competitors)
Based on prompt responses and trends data, Scrunch identifies potential competitive brands that appear alongside your brand in AI responses. These are brands that may be competing for visibility in the same prompts or topics you're tracking.

Suggested Competitor Sub-Brands (/signals/suggested-competitor-sub-brands)
Based on AI responses and competitor knowledge, Scrunch identifies potential sub-brands of your tracked competitors. If a competitor has product lines or divisions appearing in AI responses, they'll surface here.

How to Review and Act on Suggestions

  1. Navigate to the Signals tab and choose the suggestion type you want to review (Suggested Sub-Brands, Suggested Competitors, or Suggested Competitor Sub-Brands).

  2. Review the table. Each row shows a suggested entity with a description of why Scrunch flagged it.

  3. To start tracking an entity, click Accept on that row. The entity will be added to your account and begin appearing in relevant reports.

  4. To dismiss a suggestion you don't want to track, click Dismiss on that row.

  5. To dismiss all suggestions at once, click Dismiss All at the top of the table.

Why This Matters

AI responses frequently mention entities you haven't explicitly configured. Suggested Entities ensures you don't miss competitive intelligence or sub-brand performance simply because you didn't know to track them. By surfacing these automatically, Scrunch helps you maintain comprehensive coverage of your brand family and competitive landscape without manual audits of every response.
