Using the Scrunch Data Studio Templates [formerly Looker Studio]

Steps to connect your Scrunch data to a pre-built Data Studio template.

Updated today

The Scrunch Data Studio template provides an out-of-the-box dashboard with key Scrunch metrics already visualized. Follow the steps below to connect your data and start reporting.

1. Generate an API Key in Scrunch

  • Navigate to the Organization Settings tab in Scrunch.

  • Go to the API Keys tab.

  • Select Add API Key.

  • Choose Query scope (this is all that’s required for Data Studio).

  • Select the brands you’d like this API key to access (leaving Brands unchecked will allow the key to query all brands in the organization)

  • Save the key somewhere safe - you won’t be able to view it again.

Note: Only organization admins for Agency and Enterprise accounts can provision API keys and access the Data Studio connector. If you don’t see the Settings option, contact your org admin.

5. Start Exploring

If you need to restart because you entered the API key incorrectly.

Data Studio makes resetting a connector more confusing than it should be, so don’t worry if you get lost. Here’s the quickest way to fully reset your Scrunch connection and start fresh.

2. Select Data Sources on the top navigation.

3. Find your Scrunch AI data source (could be named "AI Data Connector").

4. Click the three dots on the right side of the data source. Choose Remove.

5. On the left side, click the + Create button and find "Data source."

6. Scroll to Partner Connectors and find the AI Data Connector by Scrunch AI.

7. Click the three dots in the corner and select Revoke access. This clears any stored keys tied to the connector.

8. Now you are ready to start clean. Use this link to reinstall the connector:

9. Enter your API key and brand ID again when prompted.

After that, you should be fully reset and able to reconnect without any leftover configuration from the previous attempt.
