Scrunch currently supports country-level geolocation. Geography can be applied in two places: at the brand level (Primary Location) and at the persona level.
How Geographic Targeting Works in Scrunch
1. Primary Location (Brand-Level Geo)
You set your brand's default geography in the AI Context tab under Primary Location. This is the default country that Scrunch uses when running prompts that are not assigned to a specific persona.
When a prompt has no persona assigned, Scrunch runs it from your brand's Primary Location. This ensures all unassigned prompts still have a geographic context for data collection.
2. Persona-Level Country Setting
Each persona in Scrunch can be assigned a specific country. When you assign a prompt to a persona, that prompt runs from the persona's designated country instead of the brand's Primary Location.
This allows you to monitor how AI platforms respond differently based on the user's location. For example, a prompt assigned to a "UK Customer" persona will run from the United Kingdom, while the same topic assigned to a "US Customer" persona would need to be created as a separate prompt.
Important: How Prompts and Personas Work Together
Each unique prompt text can only exist once within your Scrunch brand. You cannot duplicate the exact same prompt and assign it to different personas.
If you want to test how the same question performs across multiple geographies, you need to create separate prompt variations. For example:
"Best CRM software" assigned to US persona
"Best CRM software for UK businesses" assigned to UK persona
"Top CRM tools in Canada" assigned to Canada persona
This approach ensures each prompt is distinct while still allowing you to compare performance across different markets.
How Geography Affects Your Data
Geographic targeting impacts which AI responses you see and how your brand appears across different markets. AI platforms often return different results, sources, and recommendations based on the user's location.
Use the Persona filter in your dashboard to segment data by geography and understand how your brand performs in each market you monitor.
