Content Generation overview

A guide to get started with Content Generation

Content Generation writes a new page for the prompts you track that no page on your site covers yet. Each draft is researched, scored against the pages AI cites today, and checked against the facts your team approved in Knowledge Studio. You review and edit it in Scrunch, then publish it on your own site.

How Content Generation works: choose a topic, Scrunch writes it, review and edit, export the page, your team publishes it on your site

Nothing is published automatically. Your team decides what goes live.

How a draft is made

When you start a draft from a topic or prompt, Scrunch:

  1. Finds the pages AI cites today for the related prompts.

  2. Plans the page: its title, address, outline, and which prompts it answers.

  3. Writes the draft in your brand voice, using only the facts in your approved Knowledge Studio documents.

  4. Scores it with Site Optimization and improves its weakest sections.

  5. Checks every claim against your sources, and the wording against your voice guide.

  6. Saves the draft for you to review.

It usually takes a few minutes. You can leave the page and come back.

Two scores tell you how the page would perform, both measured against the pages AI cites for the same prompts:

  • Consideration: will AI find it?

  • Selection: will AI choose it over someone else?

A first draft aims to beat the pages AI cites today. If it can't, the draft still arrives, with a note saying what's holding it back.

Before you start

  • Find it. Content Generation is in the sidebar under Optimize. If you don't see it, ask your Scrunch contact to turn it on for your brand.

  • Who can write drafts. Brand admins, and people a brand admin has added under Configure → Site Optimization → Content editors. Everyone on the brand can read every draft.

  • Give it your facts. Drafts only state facts from Knowledge Studio documents that someone on your team has approved. The more you approve, the fewer claims you'll need to check.

  • Give it your voice. An approved voice guide in Knowledge Studio keeps drafts in your brand's voice. Without one, drafts are still written, just not in your voice.

  • Track your prompts in topics. Content Generation drafts for prompts you track. A prompt needs a topic before you can draft for it.
