Review facts and voice

How to read a draft's scores, work through the review list, and fix claims and voice

When a draft is ready, click its name or open it from Drafts with Review draft. Everything you need to check is in the Review list on the right.

The first time you open a written draft, Scrunchie offers a short tour of the scores, the review list, editing, the brief, and publishing.

Read the scores

The strip above the page shows two scores for the prompts the page targets.

  • Consideration: will AI find it? It's judged on the page alone.

  • Selection: will AI choose it over the pages it cites today? It's measured head to head against those pages, and 50% is even. The strip says how many points ahead or behind you are.

Click How we calculate this to see what the scores mean for this draft, and which pages it was compared with. If nobody is cited for these prompts yet, the draft has no score. The strip says so, and the draft is still yours to use.

To raise Selection, add what the cited pages don't have: your own data, customers, and numbers.

Warnings above the scores

  • After N passes this page still doesn't beat the pages AI cites today. Scrunch tried to improve the draft and couldn't get it ahead. Review it as usual, and add what only you know.

  • After N passes AI is still unlikely to shortlist this page for these prompts. AI may not find the page for these prompts. When both are true, one warning says both.

  • An existing page, …, already covers every prompt this draft answers. Your site may already have this page. Check it before you publish a second one.

The review list

The Review list beside a draft, with Facts, Voice, and Site Optimization items and prompt markers in the margin

Review lists every item to look at, in reading order, with how many you've resolved (for example 3 of 3 resolved). Click an item to jump to it on the page. Click a chip to show or hide each kind:

  • Facts: claims Scrunch couldn't match to your approved sources.

  • Voice: words your voice guide says to avoid.

  • Site Optimization: suggestions to score higher. These appear after you rescore an edited page. Open one to choose Ask Scrunchie to apply it or Dismiss.

When Scrunchie has suggested changes waiting, the top of the list shows how many, for example 1 suggested change, with Accept all and Reject all.

The speech-bubble markers in the margin show which prompts each section answers.

Fix a claim

The claims Scrunch writes are checked against your approved Knowledge Studio documents, your brand description, and any note you add when you start the draft.

Up to 40 claims per draft are checked, brand facts and numbers first.

  • No source: none of your sources says this.

  • Your sources disagree: your documents say something different.

  • Not in Knowledge Studio: a sentence you wrote yourself that your sources don't state. It's never counted as a problem.

  • A claim your sources back shows a small source chip after the sentence.

Click a highlighted claim to open it, then choose:

Action

What happens

Add to Knowledge Studio

Adds the fact to your team's facts in Knowledge Studio. If your brand role is Admin or Editor, it's added as an approved fact and the claim is backed. Otherwise, or if that document has open comments, it's proposed for someone to approve. The line under the button says which.

Add a source

Paste the address of a page that states it, then click Check page. Scrunch reads the page and tells you whether it backs the claim. If the page can't be read, choose Paste the passage instead.

Remove

Suggests deleting the claim from the page.

Edit the sentence

Change the wording yourself. Scrunch checks the new sentence when the page saves.

A claim with no source, and the actions to fix it

If a source doesn't back the claim, Scrunch tells you, for example "<address> doesn't say this.", "<address> says otherwise." or "Your passage says otherwise." The claim stays flagged until you fix it.

A claim checked against a page that doesn't say it

If a sentence you write states something that isn't in Knowledge Studio, Scrunch offers to add it: This isn't in your Knowledge Studio. Add it? Choose Add to Knowledge Studio or Dismiss.

A sentence you wrote that isn't in Knowledge Studio, with an offer to add it

Changed your mind? Open the claim and choose Undo decision (not for a fact you proposed to Knowledge Studio).

Fix the voice

Voice items mark words your voice guide says to avoid. If your guide names a replacement, choose Use "…". If the word is on its never list, choose Rewrite without it. Or choose Dismiss. Suggest all 3 word swaps from your voice guide (the number varies) proposes them at once. It shows when there are two or more.

Swaps arrive as suggested changes. Accept or reject each one on the page.
