Export and publish

How to export a draft, add its structured data, and mark it as published once it's live

Scrunch doesn't post the page to your site. You export it, publish it in your own CMS, and then tell Scrunch where it went.

Brand admins and content editors can edit a draft and mark it as published. Everyone else on the brand can read and export it.

Export the page

Open Export at the top of the draft and pick a format:

Option

Use it for

Copy HTML / Download HTML

Pasting into a CMS that takes HTML.

Copy Markdown / Download Markdown

Docs sites and CMSs that take Markdown. If the page has a meta description, the file starts with front matter that holds it. The title is the page's main heading.

Check the search preview

Below the page, the Search preview card shows how the page looks in search results: its title and meta description. Edit the description there. Keep it under 160 characters. The counter shows how many you've used.

Add the structured data

The Structured data card holds JSON-LD for the page: an Article, plus an FAQPage when the page has question headings. Click Copy and paste it into your page's <head>, or wherever your CMS takes structured data.

The page's address goes into the structured data only after you mark the page as published. If you copy it before that, copy it again afterward.

Mark as published

Once the page is live, come back to the draft and click Mark as published. Enter the page's address. It must be on your brand's website.

The draft then shows as Published in your drafts list.

Change a published page

The Published menu on a published draft has these options. Mark this version as published only shows when the page was edited after you published it, and the header then says Edited since published.

Option

When to use it

Open the live page

Go to the page on your site.

Change address

The page moved to a different address.

Mark this version as published

You edited the draft and published the new version.

Unmark as published

The page isn't live anymore.

Delete a draft

If you don't want a draft, open the draft, then from the ⋯ menu choose Delete draft. You need the Admin or Editor brand role to delete a draft. It's removed from Content Generation. Deleting it doesn't touch anything on your site.
