The list
Something went wrong loading citations. Try reloading, or narrow the time range. Reload the page, or pick a shorter date range.
No cited page matches these filters. Remove a filter, or click Clear all.
Top opportunities shows pages with 4+ stars, and none match in this window. Click Show 3+ stars, or pick a longer date range.
Not analyzed, Not read or Not scored. Scrunch hasn't read the page yet. It may try again the next time AI cites it. Some pages can't be read, like PDFs or pages behind a CAPTCHA, and a warning icon says why.
Suggestions
No Suggested targets card. There's nothing new to suggest today. Suggestions are third-party pages you haven't decided on yet: pages that name your competitors or no brand, or that say something your approved facts contradict.
Every suggestion has been decided. You've handled today's suggestions. More come as Scrunch finds pages worth targeting.
Emails and contacts
Couldn't draft the brief. Click Try again. If it fails again, contact your Scrunch team.
Still drafting — check back soon. It's taking longer than usual. Close the panel and come back in a few minutes.
No contacts found on the site. Scrunch found no public way to reach the author or the site, sometimes because the site asks not to be read. Add one you know with Add a contact, or reject the page with We can't reach the author.
Couldn't finish looking. Click Try again. Anything found earlier is kept.
This contact can't be added. This person asked to have their details removed, so Scrunch won't store them.
Fact check
Set up Knowledge Studio in Fact checked. There are no approved facts to check against yet.
Not checked yet. Pages are checked as AI cites them. There's nothing to do.
Couldn't check. The check didn't work. Scrunch tries again later.
A dash in Fact checked. Only pages you don't own that mention you are checked.
Your documents changed since this check. The result is from before your latest Knowledge Studio change. Recent pages are checked again on their own.
A newer version is waiting to be checked. The page has changed since it was checked. You're seeing the result for the earlier version until the new one is checked.
No Fact issues in the View menu. Fact check isn't set up yet.
Tracking
Couldn't read it. Scrunch couldn't read the page this week, for example because the site was down or blocked the read. It tries again next week.
A placed target didn't notify you. Notifications go out once a day, and only for pages Scrunch marks placed itself. A target you mark placed by hand doesn't send one.
FAQ
Does Scrunch send the emails?
No. You copy the email, send it from your own inbox, then click Mark as sent. Scrunch never sends an email or fills in a form.
Can I change the email?
Yes. Paste it into your email and change anything you like before you send it. Before you mark it sent, you can choose Regenerate from the ⋯ menu in the Email section for a whole new draft.
How does Scrunch know a page is placed?
It reads every sent page once a week. A pitch is placed when the page starts naming you. A correction is placed once the wrong statement has been gone for two reads in a row. You can also mark a target placed yourself. If the page already named you when you sent the email, mark it placed yourself.
Will a placement change what AI says?
Nobody can promise that, and it can take time. Since you sent it shows how many responses a week cite the page, and how many of those name you, before and after you sent the email.
Why does a page with a high Influence Score have low Winnability?
They measure different things. Influence Score is how much the page shapes AI's answers. Winnability is how readily it could be changed to name you. Your own pages, competitors' pages and news stories can be very influential and still unlikely to change.
Does a fact issue mean the page is wrong?
No. It means the page and your approved documents disagree. Scrunch quotes both, and you decide which is right. If your fact is the out-of-date one, update it in Knowledge Studio.
What language are the emails in?
English. If the author writes in another language, translate the email before you send it.
Can we pay a site to feature us?
Citation Optimization helps you earn mentions by pitching authors. A contact marked
May be a paid placement came from a site's advertising or partnerships page. Options for paid placements are coming.
Who can see our targets and contacts?
Everyone on your brand can see them. Other brands can't.
Where do contacts come from?
From public pages only: the page itself, the author's profile and the site's own contact pages.
