A target is a page you want to name you. When you add a page to your targets, Scrunch drafts an email to its author and looks up how to reach them. Brand admins and editors can add targets. Everyone on the brand can see them.
Suggested targets
Each day, Scrunch picks a few pages worth targeting and lists them in Suggested targets at the top of the page. Suggestions are third-party pages you haven't decided on yet: pages that name your competitors or no brand, or that say something your approved facts contradict. The most winnable come first, and everyone on your brand sees the same suggestions that day.
Why we suggest it says why each one made the list:
Names followed by your competitors, not you: the page names your competitors but not you.
Names no brands yet, so there's room for you: the page names no brand at all.
Says a quote from the page, next to what your approved facts say: the page says something your approved facts contradict. Targeting it starts a correction.
For each suggestion:
Add target adds it to your targets.
Reject asks why not, then takes it off the list for good.
Click the row to open it in the details panel. Use ‹ and › to step through the day's suggestions, and Skip to move on without deciding.
When every suggestion is decided, the card says Every suggestion has been decided. and who added or rejected what. A suggestion nobody decides on gives way to others after a few days.
Add your own targets
You don't have to wait for suggestions. View: Top opportunities is a good place to start. Then either:
Tick the pages you want and click Add target in the bar above the table.
Or open a page and click Add target in its Target section.
You can target any page AI has cited for your prompts.
Statuses
The Status column shows where each target stands. A dash means the page isn't a target.
Targeted: you've picked it. Scrunch drafts the email and looks for contacts.
Sent: you've sent the email and marked it sent. Scrunch reads the page every week.
Placed: the page now names you, or has fixed the wrong fact it stated about you.
Closed: you tried and it didn't work out, for example the editor declined. It keeps its history.
Rejected: you decided not to pursue it.
To change a status, open the target and click the status button in its Target section. To close a target, choose Closed and add a note if you like. You can move a closed target back to Targeted later.
To take a page out of your targets, choose Not targeted. Once you've sent an email for a page you can't remove it, but you can close it.
Reject a page
Reject a page you won't pursue, so it stops coming up. Reject asks Why not?, and your answer helps Scrunch pick better pages:
Not relevant to us
We can't reach the author
Paid placements only
Tried before, no luck
Reject without a reason
Rejected pages never come back as suggestions or in Top opportunities. They stay in the list as Rejected, and you can move one back to Targeted at any time.
If you reject a target with We can't reach the author before Scrunch has looked for contacts, it offers Find contacts first. A page rejected for any other reason hides its contacts until you move it back to Targeted.
Work on many pages at once
Tick the box at the start of each row, or the box in the header to select every row on this page of results. The bar above the table shows how many you've selected, with:
Add target
Reject
Find contacts, when a selected page is already a target
Clear unselects them all.
